Thai Cultural scene

So what are some peoples views on the state of Thai culture especially in terms of the Arts.

 

For me I think there are some real problems in the Culutral scene here especially given the rapid state of change that has overtaken the country. It seems that decades of intellectual discouragement by military and now corporate authorities has left Thailand with severly stunted (or at least insubstantial) creative expression. Strange for a society that embraces aethetics so much.

 

Any opinions are welcome concerning the situation Thailand is in and how it might improve the outlook.
