Went down soi 7 tonight, perfectly fine bar area that hopefully will grow into something.
Lacking character, but that might come
Noticed there was a couple of bars still clinging on in QP, don’t know how long that will last.

Walked past where Big Mango used to be tonight and got me in the mood for a burger.
Where,s good now? Really miss bars like BM

Glad to hear this, I had fond mammaries at Orchid Inn...
Wot yer reckon is the best of the two, Central Park Tower? or Orchid Inn? I have a couple more weeks in Angeles in my bucket list.
Central Park is twice as nice, but twice the price.
Id look to stay there again due to the big rooms and the jacuzzi. -
Spent the last week in Angeles
1st 4 night at Central Park Tower andantes 2 at orchid inn.
both were very good, pure mongers places.
Walking street seemed quiet and everyone said it’s low season. But the girls were extremely accommodating and I liked the 24 hours nature of the clubs and bars.
only downside is that I think one of my companions has given me a water infection and you can’t get amoxy without a prescription here.

I don't know why I feel so gutted. I've got a EU passport and an Australian one. It doesn't really personally effect me at all.
I have to be reminded that this is what Britain wanted. So there it is. I'm not going to say anything hateful like you made your bed, just that, well, best of luck and nice knowing you - mostly.
The sooner Australia is made a republic the better. And no doubt Scotland is thinking the same thing.
If leaving the E.U. was hard enough, imagine how hard Scotland leaving the UK would be
Customs Union, Hard Border etc?
People have learned absolutely nothing

Has anyone tried these Argentinian steak houses that area around?
eye watering prices, is it worth it?

I just do not know what’s going off out there.

Referring to Mr munchmaster´s report on Oct 16th about status of Soi 7 I wish to draw the attention on Mr Sticks latest Sunday works which include a recent photo of aforementioned Soi 7 new building . I am kind of surprised to note the general layout looks exactly the same as the old one which they dismantled some time ago . Probably the preveious alley leading to Soi 5 might also be reestablished.
That was a great bar area about 10 years ago. The food court and the pool bars were good fun.
glad to see something like that is coming back -

Is this where the food court and New Wave was?
the Bangkok bar scene is an absolute joke now. All these identikit boiler room bars are awful.
id give my right bollock for Soi Zero or Sukhumvit 1 Plaza to reopen.

Oh dear, I was a fan of the Whistle
ive been breakfasting at the Sportsman on Soi 13 when in Pattaya, good food but it’s a bit crap at night.

Did there used to be a Greek restaurant on Patpong 2?
i have vague memories of eating some excellent Souvlaki down there once

Wow, no bars at all?!
I think the first time I went to Soi 33 was in 1992, when I started living in LOS, and I became quite a regular. I think there were 5 or 6 bars back then (Renoir, Vincent Van Gogh, Degas, Monet and a couple of others) although we mainly frequented Renoir. Over the years a few more opened on the main soi and sub sois and then it sort of took off and a map of the soi dated March 2010 shows about 40 bars, including many Japanese ones, and about 15 massage joints. So to go from 40 to 0 in 10 years would be a massive collapse!
Actually there is one. It used to be Check Inn 99 but has changed its name
looks about as inviting as a prostate exam.
up and down the street there isnt a single one. I think the last one to go was that Ozzie bar half way down
-
There isn’t a single bar on Soi 33 now. Every single bar on Nana looks the same. Patpong closed at 2am
Queens Park Plaza closing in 5 weeks time
whats going off out there?

Soi 22 place was in Queen's Park Plaza...and great burgers!
Was it actually called Belgian Dog?
fantastic burgers, wasn’t the owner on here a lot? -
Completely pointless trip down memory lane
anyway I miss Big Mango burgers and Larry’s Dive bar, lovely sandwiches there.
what was that Belgian place on Soi 22 that did the great burgers? Belgian Dog?

If she likes a Farang style restaurant, you could always pick Bourbon Street. It's not cheap, but it's not outrageous.
I think Bourbon street is probably my favorite restaurant in BKK. As you say not cheap, but not daft.
The fajitas, po boys, Reuben are great and the breakfasts are very good especially the SOS.
The should have pumpkin pie on the menu now as it’s almost thanksgiving
In fact, I might go there now for a bit of gumbo and a beer.
life is wonderful

Never been to Angeles, was thinking of having a few days there.
whats the best “shagging hotel?”

Is it me, or does it rain a lot less during rainy season? Maybe im miss remembering, but we used to get daily downpours around this time?
(I know it does seem about to rain now, but you know what I mean)

There is a well to do Thai lady at my Gym, 47ish, good shape, attractive, BMW, wedding ring etc
She used to use a personal trainer there 3 times a week (25ish, handsome), but he suddenly disappeared.
One of the other staff later told me she had rented a condo for him somewhere and was paying him 25K a month to await her visits. He got all sorts of gifts from her too
thailand!

The old ones are the best.
Just had an crazy bar girl I BFd a number of times in 2018 send me a series of threatening messages which ended with my all time favorite bar girl threat :
“You want I send police go your room??”
where does this hoary old chestnut come from and what are YOUR favorite threats from the gurls?

Went down the Lakewood this morning and the air there is much better. Actually, no problem at all.
so now it’s a deep breath and back to Bangkok
so their latest plan to solve air pollution is to “move the capital”
hmmmm?
