  1. If all weapons are banned, society would collapse. It's un-American.
  2. If you look at history, there seems to be one or so every generation, some more violent than others. http://www.digitalhistory.uh.edu/disp_textbook.cfm?smtID=2&psid=3176
  3. Second Amendment to the US Constition says citizens have the right to bear arms. The Amendment states that if a tyrant takes over the government, US citizens are expected to take up arms and restore democracy. If you're going after a tyrant, you'd need the best weapons, including assault rifles and high capacity magazines. Look at Switzerland: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_politics_in_Switzerland
  4. I can remember beautiful babes shooting darts out of their XXX in a bar in Nana. This was about 10 -15 yrs ago and it was not part of a DC. There were many beauties there.
  5. On my very first trip to LOS around 1997, I remember going into a large building in Bangkok. The hallway was well lit. There was a guy was sitting in a chair by the door. He took us into a room and there were women packed in there like sardines. He said, '400 baht'. We didn't like what we saw, so he took us into another room and there were really goofy looking women in there packed like sardines. This time he said '200 baht'. We didn't take the offer. We left and never went there again.
  6. Where is your reference for the 70%? You got it ass backward. It's more like 75% with POSITIVE net worth.
  7. To say that a homeless man with no debt and $10 in his pocket is richer than 70% of Americans is absurd. He would be considered poor if he has no income. For a single person, the poverty threshold is about $11,000 per yr income.
  8. Beasts of the Southern Wild It's won many awards.
  9. Django Unchained   Nominated For Best Picture -- 2013 Oscar
  10. Have you ever seen a Sci-Fi flic that is not 'quite weird'?
  11. Looper "In 2074, when the mob wants to get rid of someone, the target is sent 30 years into the past, where a hired gun awaits. Someone like Joe, who one day learns the mob wants to 'close the loop' by transporting back Joe's future self." This movies takes you on a loop in more ways than one. On the surface, it appears to be about the mob and violence in a Sci-Fi setting, but the message of the movie turns into one about love. This is easily one of the top 10 movies of 2012.
  12. A news reporter on TV displayed a 30-round magazine to make a point. This happened in DC where it's illegal to even possess a 30-round magazine. So now, the news is about whether this reporter violated the law. http://www.huffingto..._n_2364637.html In MD, it's OK to possess 30-round magazine but illegal to transfer it. So if you want a 30-round magazine in MD, you have to go across the border to VA where transfer is legal, buy it there, and bring it back to MD. Staying legal can be hard work for gunowners.
  13. My take is that you don't shoot in a mild situation -- at least where I live in MD. In a home defense situation, you don't shoot unless your life or or your loved one's life is threatened, in which case I wouldn't mess with a bird shot. Breaking into a home is not a capital offense, so you can't shoot a person just for breaking and entering. Here are some scenarios: You confront a bad guy who has broken into your home. You yell, HALT!!! He runs away. You don't shoot while he's running away, just call police. If intruder halts, then you call the cops with one hand and have the other hand for the gun that will be pointed at the intruder. For this, handgun is better. If the intruder lunges or points a gun toward you, after you yell "HALT," you shoot (and I don't mean birdshot). ****MERRY CHRISTMAS****
  14. I was in the military also during the Vietnam War era but didn't hunt Viet Congs like you did. I ended up in Germany. Most of the action I saw involved German beer, frauleins, and songs.
  15. Are you sure the shock wave didn't cause that red burst on the target? I have the M44 carbine and it throws out quite a fire ball; its like shooting a hand canon. http://www.mouseguns.com/compare.htm
  16. I was supposed to go deer hunting this year. Instead, I went down to the range and shot a paper target, which I imagined to be a deer, with my 30.06 bolt action rifle. BANG!!!!! The bullet hit one inch below dead center at 100 yards. A deer would have been dead for sure. After that one shot, I packed up my bags and called it my deer hunting season.
  17. T There are circumstances when it's correct to stand your ground. There are other SHTF scenarios than LA riot and Katrina. (do a google search of 'shtf scenario')
  18. When SHTF, you and your family could be facing roving gangs of looters, rapist, and murderers. A few assault weapons would come in handy in a scenerio like that to protect yourself, your family, and your property -- at least until order can be restored.
  19. I just heard on NBC news that about 6% of the US population have serious mental illness. Most are not treated. Needless to say, you would likely find the mass killers in this 6% group.
  20. Lot of these people in USA with assault weapons are preparing for the Zombie Apocalypse. http://www.guns.com/...-zombie-gun-m4/ I have read cases where assault weapons were used by shopkeepers to hold back mobs of looters during riots in US cities.
  21. Looking at the stats, it's surprising that, in the USA, twice as many people commit suicides using firearms than murders using firearms. Also, it's been reported (USA Today) that deaths caused by mass killers represented about 1 percent of all homicides between 2006 and 2010. The CDC estimates that deaths from firearms, which include suicides and accidents, are estimated to rise to 33,000 in 2015 and exceed auto-related deaths which will fall to 32,000.
  22. US firearm laws vary depending on where you live . They are more strict in places like DC, MA, and MD. In MD, for example, transfer of handguns and assault weapons (AK47, AR-15, etc) between private individuals must go through a FFL (Federal Firearms Licensee) and a background check.
  23. Are you implying that she's called in sick just to avoid testifying before the Senate Hearing on the Benghazi attack? That whole Benghazi affair doesn't smell right. She may have a lot to hide. I would expect that she would have to testify eventually. (imagine Hillery Clinton in a hospital bed being wheeled in to testiy, like they did Mubarack in Egypt )

    A Good Red wine..

It is 2012. Beaujolais Nouveau is really bad now. It was bad last year also. There were actually stems and leaves in the bottle last year. This year, there is a hint of decaying flesh in the taste. I may not even try it next year.
