  1. Hi,

While it would certainly be fun, my guess is that we'd only get a dozen or so people to show. And that with several months' advance notice.
And of course, not much point doing it while covid restrictions are still in place as that would make travel just unnecessarily more annoying.

Having said all that, I suppose we could just pick a date toward the end of the year and create a sticky post for it. Response to that could determine whether or not it would be worth investing more time/effort.

    Thoughts?

  2. Hi,

"...if they will "legally charge" the pickup driver, this implies that they also have the option of "illegally charging"..."

I seem to recall that if someone dies at the result of an accident, a court is always involved. Wife of one my friends killed someone who walked on a tollway at night. Even though the police agreed she was not at fault, she still ended up paying a bunch of money.

  3. Hi,

    >They were only abolished in the Netherlands in 2020.

And that should have happened MUCH earlier as well!

In contrast to here though, in the NL it is totally acceptable to take the piss out of the royal family.

    >the problem with Thailands Lese Majeste Laws are more about enforcement

Bingo. The law here is mostly a political tool, and the penalties are WAY too harsh.

  4. Hi,

" This is the opposite of what needs to be done. The preflight tests help people avoid mandatory hospitalization or quarantine when arriving. And it will allow infected people to infect more tourists on the plane, who then have to quarantine. Cancel the tests after arrival "

Yes, but Thais do not make any money from the pre-flight tests. The do from the tests taken on arrival. Hence, the tests on arrival will stay.

  5. Hi,

"Forget the war in Ukraine, the only news in Thailand is the case of Nida "Tangmo" Patcharaveerapong is world news according to Thai TV, it is getting more air time Lady Di’s deaths did in the UK nearly 25 years ago. Farking 24/7 news coverage on Thai TV. "

Yeah, it has gotten totally ridiculous. Needless to say that the doctor being run over while crossing the road has been completely forgotten already.
'Dara' are the most important topic that can be discussed on TV.
