It's not that difficult really, but takes time so a repairer saves that for you. All I would do is back up your data onto another storage medium icluding all your documents, favorites, cookies and email folders then reformat the HD and install Win Me. It'll be back to good as new.

Peronal preference is to stay away from Windows ME. Use windows 2000. I've heard great things about Windows XP, but as I haven't used XP, I can't recommend it. Windows 2000 is extremely stable with me.

I'm curious though Phil, are you using Office 2000 (word, excel, powerpoint, and acess)?

I agree, Win9* and Me less stable than 2000. I have started using XP and like that more. Office XP seems very stable as well. You just need more than 128MB RAM to run all this stuff though at a reasonable speed..
