Electric

Recommended Posts

My bill is always in excess of 3,000 Baht per month, but my building charges me 7.5-8 Baht per unit....fuckers....

Teddy, what size of house do you live in? A bleeding mansion? My bills for a 3 bedroom house in the UK were never that much!

It's a six bedroomed house but the main problem is that whilst I don't mind the cold, my wife hates the cold and is having to acclimatise herself back to UK temperatures after 14 years in the desert and it's not going well.

Plus we have 8 people living in our house so that's a lot of heating, cooking, bathing etc.

Still, gas and electricity is just so feckin expensive in UK.

Mine is usually over 3500 baht per month as well. This is a much smaller house than the one I last lived in in the U.S., which cost about the same for air conditioning (and it was in Arizona!).

I chalk up the difference to the poorer or nearly non-existent insulation in the walls and ceilings. I guess you can pay the money when you build the house, or just slowly let it bleed away in increased electricity bills.

so no one knows what 1 unit of electricity corresponds to is it?

a google search also doesn't seem to bring up anything - weird :hmmm:

how about water units - what is the measure - litres, gallons, pints etc??? :)
