Just noticed today my Kasikorn ATM card was charged for using a Bangkok Bank ATM, both located in Bangkok. When did this start? It was only 5 baht but never seen this before - only noticed charges during inter provincial use in the past.

I must have a really bad understanding of the real purchasing power of the baht, since my first reaction is that you are getting bent out of shape over [color:red]fifteen cents US[/color].

there's a limited free withdrawals you can monthly in other 'friendly atms' maybe ~10 or so. you must have exceeded that & got the hefty 5bt fine!!!

Seems like a simple, non-emotional statement of fact, followed by an equally simple and non-emotional question.

 

Just for perspective, expats are affected by all of these additive "why are you even worried about this small amount" types of charges. Bank charges, increases in barfines, drink prices, hotel surcharges, cable, etc etc can easily add up to the cost of a RT ticket to their home country once a year.

5 yrs, I must have got lucky, never noticed 5 baht deductions before. Thanks for the feedback, not bent out of shape, rather a tongue in cheek poke at another thread of similar title on Kasikorn ATM's!
