<Before I visited Kanchanaburi 99% of my info on the topic was from the movie>....

.....Considering your posts I?ve read of yours and your apparent intelligence (I?m not groveling!!) I find this quite shocking.

[color:blue]To me it was offensive, as I said before my Grandad (as others may well have too) suffered miserably in Thailand, logic and reason doesn't always come into how something said makes you feel, that is what makes us human.color=blue>

All of us are offended by something and there's nothing wrong with letting people know you were. Even call them a f**cker or b*st*rd to let off steam. But hopefully people will still post interesting and controversial topics, because if we tried to find the subset of topics that didn't offend anyone we'd run out of things to say. In fact, if I don't offend at least one person with every post, I think I might as well have not bothered.

Doesn't that pixellated pornography piss you off though? Damn those japanese. Teasing us with cute young nekkid asian women and then ruining the whole thing. They also need to do a better job trimming their pubic hair.

[color:blue]......yeah, why do they do that?!! color=blue>

Personally, I think they are insecure about the size of their penises and have conspired to hide them from the world. Notice they have no problems showing "artistic" drawings of samurai with 3 foot long dicks. But if it were me, I'd pixellate my entire body and face; and you'd be happy I did!

maybe they are insecure about the size of their penises but as far as I know it's the Japanese law that requires to pixellate their penises as well as pubic hair. Japanese men like girls with big bushes and it's hard to find shaved girls over here.

To all,

Please stop ranting about WWII.

We can not change history sadly enough.

I visited the Kanchanaburi region, there is some beautiful scenerey following the river. You can visit Sai Yok waterfal, or Erawan National park (a long bus drive) where you can walk up a path and swim in some of the seven pools created by nature. On week ends many thais make a day trip out there.

There is also a Khmer ruin city somewhere between Erawan and Kanchanaburi, Prasat Muang Singh, or take the (tourist) train to Nam Tok.

you can easily visit around Kanburi with a bike or motorbike. the hotel and bungalow situation for travellers is good and plenty. The best eat in town is at the Apple G H. Slow service, though, but great food.

The bridge is totally touristic, tons of chinese tour groups, ro add to the farangs and japs. A few temple outside of town are worth visiting. Just check the TAT office and they will give you a map of sights. Really, I find it fun to rent a bike and travel the roads in the region. Let me know, I was there last winter and could send you a few pix to wet your appetite if you intend to be there more than a day. And yes, there are a few bars with girls in town on the main thoroughfare where tourists hang out, but not as many as internet cafes....

thanks for the info.

Did you stay at one of the bungalows on a raft? (I read something of some called Sam's Place?)

Or is the regular hotel better?

Won't be looking for girls there, as I'm bringing sand to the beach. smile.gif
