But wait there's more:
where did little Donnie get his tariff economic policy?
Apparently he asked, in his first term, Jared the son in law, to find an economic adviser.
And Jared came up with Peter Navarro, an American economist and author.
Peter's expertise seems to arise from having written seven or so books in which he repeatedly quotes a Ron Vara, as the source for and justification for his economic views.
The Economist described Navarro as having "oddball views"
Donald laps this up.
Problem is, that Navarro's "Ron Varo" does not exist and is an anagram of Peter Navarro.
Ron Varo doesn't exist except in Peter's and now Donald's minds.
Also Peter Navarro appears to have written his own wikipedia page, glowing as it is.
Navarro has admitted to making up the character Ron Varo.

... Meanwhile, honorary president of the Thai Rice Exporters Association, Chukiat Opaswong, warned that the US reciprocal tariff would affect Thai rice exports, as Thailand had a market share of over 850,000 tonnes last year.
He expects the reciprocal tariff to push the price of Thai jasmine rice in the US to $1,400 per tonne, compared to Vietnamese rice, which would be priced at $600-700 per tonne.
He cautioned that US consumers would likely choose Vietnamese rice over Thai rice. ...
and
... Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra said Thailand is prepared to negotiate with the U.S. after Trump announced a 36% “reciprocal” tariff on its goods. The U.S. is Thailand’s largest export market. Shinawatra said that Thailand’s actual tariff rate on U.S. imports is on average 9% rather than the 72% figure the White House presented. ...

'Full-on crazy': Nobel-winning economist aghast at Trump's tariffs and wildly false claims
Nobel Prize-winning economist turned political commentator Paul Krugman was completely aghast at President Donald Trump's new round of so-called "Liberation Day" tariffs, which impose new import taxes ranging from 10 to 49 percent on essentially every country's imports — and even a handful of random, remote islands with tiny populations and negligible trade with the United States.
"Based on what he said, he’s gone full-on crazy," wrote Krugman... LINK

When asked Nobel laureate Paul Krugman for his reaction to Trump’s remarks, the economist replied:
Trump’s tariff announcement was full-on crazy. Not only is he imposing higher tariffs than almost anyone expected, but he’s justifying them with completely false claims about other countries’ tariffs. I don’t know where his numbers are coming from, but they have nothing to do with reality. ... It’s a really bad day for the U.S. economy.
At face value, the fact that Trump lied a lot probably seems unremarkable. This is, after all, what he does, and what he’s always done throughout his time in public life. Those who look to this president for honesty and facts clearly haven’t been paying close enough attention.
But if Trump is going to set the global economy — and your retirement savings — on fire, it’s hardly unreasonable to think he should present his vision in a way that had a tangential relationship with reality.
He did not.

Very sage, and as I/we've been saying, since 2016, what befalls the USA, befalls the rest of us, in some small or big way.
We used to say in the context of Financial markets, America sneezes, NZ catches a cold.
And to your point about cyber warfare: as we know, the Internet works by distribution of traffic and the USA portion is large and significant (see image below of Internet servers in the world).
If the USA bit were to go belly up, it would affect the rest of the network, the network would survive and be working but the volume of traffic would be severely restricted.
Notwithstanding the effect on the world of the loss of services domiciled in the USA, as we've already seen by the restriction on world weather data and forecasts, LINK via the sacking of staff by MuskBabies.

https://www.stuff.co.nz/world-news/360634083/trump-lashes-out-putin-ukraine-ceasefire-talks-stall
excerpt:
Donald Trump said he was “pissed off” with Vladimir Putin and threatened to ramp up sanctions on Russia as Ukraine ceasefire talks stalled.
The US president said he was “very angry” with his Russian counterpart demanding that Volodymyr Zelenskyy be replaced with a transitional government as the price for peace negotiations.
He also threatened to introduce secondary tariffs on Russian energy exports, targeting countries that buy Russian oil and gas with sanctions.
“If Russia and I are unable to make a deal on stopping the bloodshed in Ukraine, and if I think it was Russia’s fault – which it might not be – but if I think it was Russia’s fault, I am going to put secondary tariffs on oil, on all oil coming out of Russia,” he added in a morning phone call to NBC on Sunday (local time).
“That would be that if you buy oil from Russia you can’t do business in the United States. There will be a 25 per cent tariff on all oil, a 25 to 50-point tariff on all oil.”
...
____
Coss Comment: so if you buy oil from Russia, you cannot do business in the USA, and Donald will charge you 25~50% tariff on the oil that you can no longer buy.
Unless of course he's charging you a tariff in another country you do business in... Which aligns with his view that he is King of the world and can set taxes and tariffs in any country... -

I have been meaning to make a visit to Stick and catch up, but as treatment until now, has made me vague in the head, I've neglected this important area of the social life.
Perhaps in the coming summer.
