The_Numbers was a regular late night conversation, sadly he passed away at age 42 about 2 years ago or so
Sad News about The Numbers, had some fun afternoons out with him and Suadum in Patpong many years ago

What is it with Hollywood's obsession with movies based around war?
Hollywoods obsession is with rewriting history on movies loosely based around warr
U-571 No the Americans did not intercept the Enigma Machine scepter in Hollywood, it was the Brits but whitewashed out of history
Saving Private Ryan Only America landed on D Day no mention of the Brits, Canuck’s or Aussies, The Mulberry Harbours and DD Tanks used in the D Day landings were both British inventions except in Hollywood when they were yank.
The Last Samurai, as if the Japanese Imperial Guard would be saved by a random American
Battle of the Bulge, Red Tails, Braveheart, The Patriot, Pearl Harbour and so on and so on, the list is endless.
And to make matters worse, many Americans believe the Hollywood remake of History as fact.

A few of the Slow Horses/Slough House books, Mick Herron. Not exactly Le Carre level read but not bad at all, funny throughout, and for a guy like me who's stalling out in the middle ranks of a big bureaucracy, right on the nose.
Is the Main Character David Brent?

OK the Bomb on Hiroshima killed approx 140,000 in one pop, but what about
- France 350,000 Civilian Victims
- India. 2,000,000 Civilian Victims
- Korea. 400,000 Civilian Victims
- China. 16,000,000 Civilian Victims
- etc
In the overall scheme of things Japan got off pretty lightly compared to civilian deaths inflicted by the axis nations, you don’t hear the French crying over all the WWII movies set in France
-
Interesting take by the residents of Hiroshima saying the film didn’t go far enough and show the consequences of the A Bomb.
I will never understand the Japanese

Instead of spending a fortune on furniture the homeless can’t sleep on, why not spend the money on the homeless problem instead.
Australia, the same as the UK, has a shortage of social and affordable housing is chronic underinvestment by governments of all levels and political persuasion over decades. Social and affordable housing is also not a very good "vote winner"
Well how about caring less about winning votes and caring more the the people you are elected to serve

There are 42 nudist beaches in the UK, why anyone would want to get their kit off on a UK summers day is beyond me

And talking of Musicals did you know that Phil Collins was the original Artful Dodger is the West End production of Oliver, not just rehearsed for the part but actually starred in the role.
The reason this fact remains largely unknown is due to him being famous for more than just one song

Just out of curiosity, how well did you know him 🙄
Well enough to know he was no more than a one hit wonder in my walk of life

was much more than a one-hit wonder,
Such as?
I’ll be damned if I can remember anything else he has done in music, or life in general for that matter.

There is the other side of the story coming out such as hy does the video only playing from a few moments in, what happened before.
Allegedly, this is hearsay so don’t quote me on this, the cop pulled them over and demanded a cash fine (does happen A LOT) Brothers refuse, Cop pulls the gun on the Brothers waving it about screaming at them, one of Brothers uses his MMA experience to disarm the cop, they empty the gun and chamber of bullets and offer the gun back to cop.
They are still dickheads mind, but I’ll be interesting to see if/when full video is released.

You really get the impression the Thais are fed up with misbehaving foreigners
Isn’t that true, look at the outrage on Phuket just last week, the Swiss owner of an Elephant sanctuary kicked a woman sat on the steps of his property at the beach.
Candle lit vigils, singing of the anthem, placard Wielding protesters and his visa was revoked so he and his Thai wife have to leave Thailand

As well as the USA the UK will have elections this year, the Party Broadcasts have already started

Quote from the guys Father
“Who would have ever expected this? Just a couple of kids on a tourist trip.”
Kids? They are 36 and 34, maybe you as their father treating them as kids cause them to act like kids.
