In the USA we put spins on history. We claim we did away with slavery but we like to sweep unnder the carpet the fact that Mexico did away with slavery way before we did. We remember the Alamo but don't seem to realize at the Alamo they flew the Mexican flag because Texas was a Mexican state. The fight at the Alamo was more over the issue that Texas still wanted to continue with slavery whereas the rest of the Mexican country did not want slavery.

Then there is one of the largest businesses in the USA: jails/prisons which are run under some of the most diabolitical rules while draped and showcased to the World as an example of how a Christian country treats people.

The USA has skeletons. For example: Massacres, starvations, etc. committed on Indians (Native Americans) We are proud of our country but are past is not a very nice past. We promoted the total disregard for Native Americans. We promoted slavery. We promoted peonage. Not nice.

Germany is a small country. So is Japan and Italy. For these countries to almost dominate over the rest of the world does prove a small country can become a world empire. One only has to look at Spain who at one time had the World in her clutches. Even California and Arizona, USA were territories of New Spain which reported to the mother country Spain. As for Natzi Germany, her dominance according to her propaganda minister, came to a forefront as a result of her concentration camps which were based upon how the USA treated Native Americans and on how the Brits handled the Boor situation.

The worse part of USA jails is civil right violations not of guilty people but of people who just got arrested but the charges are either later dropped or the person is found innocent.

Some people would think the Communist countries like China are number 1 for having prisoners but are surprised to find the USA is #1.

Homosexuality didn't become a word till the late 1880's. What probably fueled the government fears was when the Federal government in the 1880's got after the 'Mexican' USA citizens who were cohabitating 'illegally'. The 'Mexicans' got married in the Church and forgot to get a liscense from the State/Territory. Some 'Mexicans' actually got arrested because they had a Church marriage and did not get a Government liscense. Shortly afterwards in the later part of the 1880's the Federal government came down hard on the Mormons for their pologamist beliefs. But the main issue is should the goverments force their religious beliefs on citizens? I say "No!"
