1. I worked in a factory once when they were just starting to change over to the automated machines. From what I remembered the problem was not the unions but finding and training somebody to baby sit the machines. Excepting new technologies is something I would say is not something the average persons looks forward to do. Remember when companies had key punch employees? Secretaries?
2. If it wasn't for the Unions, we probably would have a manufacturing base in the USA but it would consist of sweat shops.
3. When it comes to paying taxes, if a person can come up with enough deductions they might not owe any taxes. I do't think the government can break it down by groups as to who really is paying taxes and how much. For example, how much taxes do Republicans or State employees pay to the Federal government.
4. That's right. Have you a spare tube of KY?
5. The biggest mistake the guy made is when the FBI 'SWAT' team stopped him and wanted there crap back, he should have told them [color:red]"Nope!"
6. Never offended me in person or on the board...though I thought your original comment was made with a broad brush aimed at citizens' date=' not government policies. [b'][color:red]Anyway, I'm really curious what "policies" of the U.S. might offend others; particularly foreign policies. I say that, cuz I have yet to identify any concrete foreign policies of the U.S. over decades and any number of GOP and Demoncrap administrations. Quite simply, I don't think the U.S. has any foreign policies. HH Monroe Doctrine
7. No. Re read what I wrote. And again' date=' I know it is hard to do, but try NOT to think of it like your personal financial decisions. These are nation states.[/quote'] Borrowing from China, Japan, Brazil, UK, Russia, Switzerland, etc. sounds like a good political tactic. Having China as our banker keeps the Chinesse of our back and keeps them as our 'friend' but this type of policy is not very wise. The money the USA collects from revenue is exactly what the government spends for Health and Human Services, Social Security and the Treasury. The money we borrow is used to run the rest of the Federal government. If we hadn't borrowed and mismanaged money so badly, instead of going into debt each year as the world's greatest debtor nation, [color:red]we could have been operating in the black with a 35% less tax burden on the people.
8. It's not. Just takes a look at world economics from a non-reactionary position over the past say 2 centuries. But you also have to temper that look with the knowledge rules that you and I have to follow as private citizens do not and have never applied to nation states. Note: I never said it was wise. I just said it is done and is not "very unstable." Try to look at it from the other side. What would be the benefit from the US owing the world a lot of money.... (Take a bit to think about it. I'll tell you if you need me to' date=' but I bet you can see it after a few mins... if that long!)[/quote'] Are you trying to say we should borrow a lot more money? Or would you say we would be in a lot better shape as a nation if we hadn't borrow any money and hadn't spent all the money we borrowed from the Social Security and Medicare funds?
9. I found cock fighting interesting in Isaan. In the USA they fight till one cock is dead. The fights I have seen in Isaan are not like that. They clean up their respective cocks and take them home.
10. But as obviously you have a clue' date=' would you mind explaining the numbers then ? BB[/quote'] Sure. Governments dont work like normal people do, so you can not compare the two which is what you are doing. The US has been a debtor nation since the beginning. And it almost always will be as long as it has to pay to defend the rest of you. The thing is, push comes to shove, that debt is just paper and can be nullified with the stroke of a pen. Again, nation states dont work by the same rules the rest of us have to. Just ask China. So can I say you actually believe it is wise for a government to spend 50% more then they take in and to accumulate one of the largest debts the world has ever seen? Being you have a 'clue' I guess this will not be a difficult answer for you. :hubba:
11. But as obviously you have a clue' date=' would you mind explaining the numbers then ? BB[/quote'] Sure. And it almost always will be as long as it has to pay to defend the rest of you. The thing is, push comes to shove, that debt is just paper and can be nullified with the stroke of a pen. Again, nation states dont work by the same rules the rest of us have to. Just ask China. In 1835 the USA government was in debt for $33,733.05. I would say the government back then was very responsible in lowering her debt. 19 years prior, in 1816, the debt had grown to $127,334,933.74. Fortunately for us our elected officials in just 19 years had reduced the debt burden accurred from the War of 1812 from [color:red]$127 million to [color:red]$34 thousand dollars. These government officials did a fantastic job in handling their fiscal responsibility! Governments, especially our own government, should realize that if we fight a war we have to pay (dearly) for the cost of the war. . Germany in 1920 had similar debt ratios as the USA has today. They decided to print more money. It didn't work. . Governments don't operate like businesses..... but they should!
12. But as obviously you have a clue' date=' would you mind explaining the numbers then ? BB[/quote'] I would like an explanation also. Maybe it is the soma?
13. WaaaHahahahahah!!!!! {breath} HAHahahahahahahaha..!!!! So are you saying bringing in 2.2 trillion and spending 3.8 trillion with a 14 trillion debt load is very stable? It is like a person making $22,000 a year and at the same time spends $38,000 while owing $140,000 in long term debts. Not very good. Agree?
14. The USA is very unstable. As far as other parts of the world, one might be leaving one frying pan for another. As for the USA, what our government has done to Social Security and Medicare is a national disgrace. Just on that ground, our government can not be trusted. We might be doomed.
15. I have told TSA that the only terrorist I see is them.
16. Federal Income tax came about during the civil war. If it wasn't for the Federal income tax, the Union might have lost.
17. What business wants shit in their store?
18. The Federal Budget looks like a walking landmine field. The amount for Health and Human Services, Social Security and the money the Treasury dishes out just happens to be what the country brings in from all sources - 2.2 trillion dollars. We are spending far more then what we bring in and our accumulative debt load now is up to 14 trillion. Our numbers seem to match up nicely in proportion to Germany's figures in 1920.
19. Nothing new for the USA. Our right to assembly has been dramatically diminished.
20. In Tucson, Arizona they have a rattlesnake bridge that ..... goes nowhere.
21. The Robocop TV show was one of my favorites.
22. Proposed White House budget: 3.651 trillion. Money for Health and Human Services .8956 trillion Money for Social Security: .8031 trillion Money for treasury: .4673 trillion Money just for those 3 emtities is 2.166 trillion ..........that is 60% of the budget. The amount of these 3 entities should be close to zero if the government was managed properly. I think we are screwed.
23. USA citizens don't like being duped espeially into a bogus war. Remember the yellow cake scares? Iraq had yellow cake but nobody told anybody yellow cake is not worth anything and not dangerous.
24. You should come to Arizona and let the people know those who had their money totalling over $10,000 was illegal. Some cops are willing to seize amount smaller then $10,000.
25. I have said for some time these characters are thieves but most people have dismissed that thought as pure poppy cock.
