  1. Google JL and Shakira nude and you might be surprised at what you find.
  2. "Both parties are slimy. The DNC's sliminess is mainly against their own." Not completely, since I remember quite well how the Dems were trying to throw up restrictions to make it difficult for active duty military to vote from outside the US, since the military tends to be more conservative and vote Republican. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/northamerica/usa/1375024/Gore-campaign-trying-to-block-military-votes.html https://www.forbes.com/sites/rickungar/2012/09/26/obama-accused-of-suppressing-military-vote-by-withholding-absentee-ballots/#3d92da7f645d https://www.investors.com/politics/editorials/obama-ignores-military-absentee-voting-problems/
  3. Thailand shooting: Survivors recall ordeal of gun rampage Terrified residents of the Thai city of Nakhon Ratchasima have been reliving their ordeal after a gunman roamed around a shopping centre on a shooting spree that killed 29 people. Some barricaded themselves in toilets or hid under tables, frantically searching for information on mobiles. Jakraphanth Thomma began his rampage on Saturday afternoon, but it only ended with his death 16 hours later. A vigil for victims has been held on Sunday, with monks chanting prayers. Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha said the 32-year-old soldier, who had posted images during his attack on social media, appeared to have been motivated by a land dispute. Another 57 people were injured in the incident, an "unprecedented number in Thailand", the PM said. What have the survivors been saying? Jakraphanth began his attack at about 15:30 local time on Saturday (08:30 GMT) at a military camp, but it was his arrival at the Terminal 21 shopping complex that led to an indiscriminate shooting spree. Many of the victims were killed as he arrived, some in their cars, others outside the complex. Graphic images appeared on social media. nside Terminal 21, a seven-floor complex designed on an airport theme, terrified shoppers were unsure whether to flee or hide. Nattaya Nganiem was leaving the complex by car when she heard gunfire and saw one woman "run out from the mall hysterically". She saw a motorcyclist dump his motorcycle and run. One who saw the gunman, Diaw, told Amarin TV the attacker "was shooting everywhere and his shots were very precise". He aimed at the heads of victims, Diaw said, adding that one of his colleagues was killed. Up on the fourth floor, Chanathip Somsakul, 33, barricaded himself into the women's toilets with dozens of others, using cubicle doors to wedge the entrance shut. They all scoured mobile devices to get information. But he said there was so much information, no-one knew what to believe. "Everyone was terrified. A friend who works at the mall was talking to a guy in the CCTV control room... he gave us updates on the location of the gunman," he told AFP news agency. When police arrived at about 21:00, they left in an orderly fashion, but started running when shots rang out. Charlie Crowson, a teacher of English who lives in Nakhon Ratchasima, told the BBC there were "bodies on the streets" of the normally peaceful city. He said one of his girlfriend's former students was among those killed in the attack. Jakraphanth was eventually shot dead by the security forces. At the city morgue on Sunday, Natthawut Karnchanamethee was mourning the loss of his 13-year-old son, Ratchanon Karnchanamethee. "He's my only son. I allowed him to do anything he wanted to. I never set expectations for him. I only wanted him to be a good person," Mr Natthawut said. At the vigil on Sunday, 13-year-old Lapasrada Khumpeepong said she and her mother had been cornered in a bathroom at the complex for five hours. She wrote on a condolence board: "Thank you to those who sacrificed themselves to keep others alive. Without you, we would not be here today." What have the authorities said about the attack? Mr Prayuth travelled to Nakhon Ratchasima, also known as Korat, to meet wounded survivors. The PM said he believed the gunman was involved in a "personal conflict... over a house deal" that involved a relative of his commanding officer, both of whom Jakraphanth shot dead at the military base at the start of his rampage. Mr Prayuth said: "I hope this is the only one and the last incident, and that it never happens again. No-one wants this to happen. It could be because of this person's mental health in this particular moment." Forensic experts continue to work at the shopping complex. Jakraphanth served at Suatham Phithak military camp, about 250km (155 miles) from the capital, Bangkok. Army sources said he was a sharpshooter and had taken courses on attacks, including the planning of ambushes. He used social media heavily, including posting pictures of himself with weapons. Jakraphanth killed another soldier as he stole a military vehicle and weapons - two rifles, one M60 machine gun and 770 rounds of ammunition - from the base. A Facebook post before the attack read: "Rich from cheating. Taking advantage of other people. Do they think they can spend the money in hell?" During the attack - and before his Facebook account was taken down - he wrote: "Death is inevitable for everyone." https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-51435760?fbclid=IwAR1kgRPUHat7-q5cQcCIw-xKtonMuTTN8wL7AkIu4LfeiO4phaQYRhT20MI The issue of how many firearms Thais own is totally irrelevant, since the killer stole his weapons on an Army base. Now the question of how the Thai military secures its weapons is a very different issue. In the US military weapons and ammunition on domestic bases are kept under strict lock and key.
  4. All you have to do is wear a mask and you won't be a "f*cking Farang". Then you can run naked through the streets doing whatever you want.
  5. My mother's father was from Norfolk. That's sort of Oceanian.
  6. No Tourists, No Buyers: Pratunam Vendors Hit Hard by Coronavirus Phobia BANGKOK — Business owners and vendors at the once-bustling Pratunam Market say they are bearing the brunt of a massive drop in tourism amid the coronavirus epidemic. Known for bargain priced goods, textiles, and souvenirs among tourists and Thais alike, the market is nearly deserted during a visit on Thursday afternoon. Some merchants said they want the government to step in and help them stay afloat. “It was already bad [before the virus] but much worse now,” vendor Sasiwan Sukchuenruethai, 43, said. “Chinese, Vietnamese and Singaporean customers are now afraid, and Thais don’t come out.” Sasiwan runs a shop selling cosmetics to mostly foreign tourists. She said her business has “dropped by 80 percent” over the past week. Laem, also 43, is a coconut juice vendor in the area – selling one for 40 baht. Many coconuts sat unsold during an interview, even though it was already late in the afternoon. “I used to get Singaporean, Chinese and Taiwanese customers,” Laem said. “Now they are gone.” Ae, 52, sells tourist souvenirs just in front of the main market. Goods range from contemporary Buddha statues and T-shirts to Muay Thai shorts. The vendor said he noted a big plunge in the number of foreign shoppers in recent days. “Nothing is selling well now,” he said. The outbreak of coronavirus is expected to deliver a heavy blow to the tourism industry, a crucial sector in Thai economy. China has already banned overseas tour groups, cutting off a major source of tourism revenue for Thailand. The Tourism Authority of Thailand said it estimated that only 9 million tourists would be visiting Thailand this year, down from 10.9 million in 2019. The drop could end up costing the country 3.3 trillion baht in missed revenues. Vendors interviewed at Pratunam said they are also concerned about the risks of being infected with coronavirus from travelers. They said face masks were either sold out or available at a jacked up price, despite the government’s effort to control the price. “It used to be 200 baht for a box of 50 [sanitary] masks. Now it has gone up to 900,” Sasiwan said. https://www.khaosodenglish.com/news/business/2020/02/07/no-tourists-no-buyers-pratunam-vendors-hit-hard-by-coronavirus-phobia/
  7. A gay colleague (well to be more accurate, a flaming faggot of a colleague) used to say that quite seriously.
  8. According to my autosomal DNA, I'm about 0.61% Oceanian and 0.16% East Asian. I'm still trying to figure that out, since none of my family never lived anywhere near the Pacific Ocean before my dad moved us to California in 1956. HG = hunter gatherers NF = Neolithic farmers This graph is for "deep roots".
  9. The gunman was a 32-year-old senior sergeant major. Rather fast promotion ... something unusual was going on. "Thailand has one of the highest rates of gun ownership in the world but mass shootings by soldiers targeting civilians are rare." Really? It is not easy to obtain a firearms permit (which is required for everything except single shot hunting rifles), though it is easy enough to buy anything you want on the black market. But I apparently Al Jazeera's source knows better than the rest of us. I don't know a single person (except for policemen) who has a firearm of any kind. p.s. Firearms are an absolute no-no for foreigners, and you can go to prison if you are found with one. That's why we carry quarterstaffs.
  10. Thai health minister ‘sorry’ for saying ‘f*cking farangs’ without masks should be kicked out. Thailand’s top health official apologized for using a vulgarity to disparage white tourists Friday morning and demand they should be kicked out of the country. Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul on Friday afternoon apologized for his enraged comments during a photo op this morning at which he was handing out face masks and noticed some foreigners refusing them. He told reporters that “farangs,” a catch-all term for white tourists, should be deported for not wearing masks during the current coronavirus outbreak. “These fucking farangs. These farang tourists. The embassies should be notified and the public should be informed too. We are giving away the masks, but they refused to take them. They need to be kicked out of Thailand,” Anutin said while giving an interview to the media at BTS Siam, where the media had been invited to film him personally hand out masks to commuters. “The Chinks, Asian people, they all take the masks. But those Europeans… how frustrating,” he continued. In his online apology, he said the foreigners “showed disgust at Thais.” “I apologize that today I kinda ‘lost myself’ to some Europeans who showed disgust at Thais who wear masks and refused to cooperate to wear the masks,” he wrote on Facebook. Anutin is the head of the Bhumjaithai Party, which came to power by backing legal cannabis and Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-o-cha. Thai officials have been playing down the extent of the outbreak which has led to at least 25 confirmed infections in the kingdom, an increasing number of which are locally transmitted as the virus spreads. None has involved any tourists of European ancestry. https://coconuts.co/bangkok/news/kick-fcking-farangs-out-of-thailand-for-not-wearing-masks-health-minister/?fbclid=IwAR3zrWSrFLWYTNsZXHau-IRM0EJ80BH1Wac2oY1Hs3Wb3_HnxCNKK4RDQ58
  11. There is definitely a shortage, but I bought a few masks at Mission Hospital for 5 baht each! Earlier I'd bought PM 2.5 masks at Tops grocery for 19 baht for two.
  12. If this is the case, then why has there only been one death among those outside the PRC?

  14. So what did they look like BEFORE the weight loss surgery?
  15. Mother and daughters told 'too big' for business class Enjoying the luxury of business class seats on an 11-hour flight back to Auckland was meant to be a treat for Renell and Tere after undergoing weight-loss surgery in the city of Bangkok. Instead, the sisters and their mother, Huhana, were left ''traumatised'' by Thai Airways staff who came at them with tape measures telling them they were ''too big'' for their business class seats. Six months on from that ''disgusting'' experience and Huhana, 59, is still bitter about the experience. ''The staff were shouting 'too big, too big' at us repeatedly. Rows of people watched as they measured us at the check-in. It was so humiliating the way we were treated that I just broke down in tears,'' said Huhana. The language barrier didn't help as staff refused to let them enter the business class section and made them sit in economy class. Huhana, a social worker, says she won't fly again until she loses weight, to avoid the sort of traumatic experience Thai Airways put her and her daughters through. "We were really looking forward to flying on business class and instead we were left traumatised,'' she added. Most airlines can provide seatbelt extensions for larger passengers. But Thai Airways said its business class seatbelts are fitted with built-in air bags which means they can't be extended. The family are still confused by this explanation. Since their traumatic experience last summer, Huhana and her daughters have been trying to get a refund from Thai Airways. But the airline has only offered to recompense the family based on the difference between business and economy fares. She approached the travel agent she booked the flights with, Flight Centre, who said it would provide a full refund, although the family had to wait more than six months for it. When contacted by the BBC, a spokesman for Thai Airways said it now has better warnings in place on its reservations system so agents are made aware of such issues. The family were on a tour organised by Destination Beauty, which specialises in sending clients to Thailand for weight-loss and plastic surgery. Martin Olsen, chief executive of Destination Beauty, said he was ''very saddened and surprised'' at the way the airline handled the situation. He was also confused by the actions of Thai Airways staff as ''many obese people book business class as they are unable to fit comfortably into economy class''. When it comes to oversized passengers, it's up to the discretion of each airline how to manage the situation, a spokesman for the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said. Airlines do calculate the take-off weight for a plane, but this takes into account the estimated weight of passengers, their luggage and fuel. ''In most cases the average passenger is well under the weight limit as the allowance tends to be fairly generous,'' he said. Most airlines recommend that if you think you will be too big for your seat, you should buy a second seat at the time you make your booking. But few airlines have specific guidelines when it comes the definition of ''oversized''. However, American Airlines does states '''if a customer's body extends more than one inch beyond the outermost edge of the armrest and a seatbelt extension is needed, another seat is required''. https://www.bbc.com/news/business-51276016 Poor things, they should have flown cargo.
  16. The first Thai to contract, and recover from, the Novel Coronavirus is giving the thumbs up and telling the public not to panic. 73 year old Jaimuay Sae-ing was interviewed on the Palang Pracharat party’s Facebook page yesterday. Jaimuay fully recovered from the virus after nine days in Nakhon Pathom hospital, around 50 kilometres west of Bangkok, under the care of a large, specially selected medical team. She had been with younger relatives on holiday in the Chinese city of Wuhan, which is now under lockdown after it was found to be the origin of the outbreak. She was in China from December 25 until returning to Thailand on January 3. She began to feel weak with aches and pains, and was admitted to a local hospital where it was confirmed she had contracted the new virus. She said in the interview that she was cursing her luck, especially as she was the first case, but now she is fine. “Don’t be worried about the Coronavirus. I was the first and I recovered, and importantly, I was treated by upcountry doctors”. The Novel Coronavirus is understood to have an incubation period of 14 days. Doctors told reporters she had already been suffering from the virus for 12 days at the time she was admitted. Her relatives were kept well away and could only connect with her via intercom and video link. It was felt that the expertise of the staff at the Nakhon Pathom hospital was sufficient and she didn’t need to be transferred to a bigger facility. https://thethaiger.com/hot-news/coronavirus/first-thai-to-catch-and-recover-from-coronavirus-tells-people-not-to-worry

  18. Nah, the "elite" have learned their lesson. They'd be more likely to choose the JFK option.
  19. The alternative is having some dumbass politician as the head of state. Who would you rather have, an apolitical monarch or klutzy Boris Johnson? Without a monarch, Scotland would probably go independent and even Northern Ireland might decide to go off on its own. I suppose the Welsh would stay with whatever was left of the UK.
  20. Chairman Xi has come out in praise of the General and his handling of the virus containment. He clearly wants him to stay in power in Thailand and keep signing agreements with the PRC.
  21. I didn't realise he was still living.
  22. What a totally bizarre comparison. This is an election year and every president has used his election year State of the Union address to boost his upcoming campaign. The British monarch is not running for any office.
  23. I hardly think any of Trump's popularity could be passed to his children. His adult sons seem like the kind of people you would want to avoid. Once the Donald is gone from the picture, who do the Republicans have? If they'd had a stronger figure four years ago, Trump wouldn't have been able to get the nomination.
