thai3
Does 3,000 baht there and back from bkk with a four hour wait sound reasonable to pay? Was quoted 2,000 one way plus petrol by normal taxi, the 3,000 price is from the bloke outside the manhattan hotel. it's to go see Jintara again-peter
lopburi3
You could probably get it for a little less but if person is happy to take/wait for the 3,000 baht "total" I would pay it; especially if you have experienced his driving and it is good. FYI: the normal long distance trips here by Thai involve vans and they pay about 1,500 - 1,800 baht per day plus fuel/meals and often a tip. Guest
i took the bus from Moh chit last may to Korat, i think i paid 160 B.......of all the northern ciities/towns (khon kaen, chiengmai) i found korat the most intresting. Wondering if you stoppped in to that vietnam war veterans cafe??
sanukdee
Take the bus man! Buses leave several times a day from Mochit. More leg room and safer (traffic accidents) then a taxi
sanukdee
I totally agree. I forgot about that alternative.
samak
take the plane man.....much faster....who care's about the leg rest for such a short time.... and much safer; the road from bangkok to saraburi and then to nakhon ratchasima has the greatest death toll in thailand. thai3
Well in the end I never went, the concert was not in Khorat itself but about 70 klm east. The taxi would have been the best bet as I have found in the past the cost of getting from bus/air terminal to some out of the way place and back can be more than expected. Instead I took a thai lady member from this borad out for a meal.-peter
thai3
Does anyone have any man and van hire contacts? Did it a few years ago to CM when I think the thais I was with paid 1,000 a day + gas. It's a good way of getting around as long as not going too far i.e. CM!-peter
