Flashermac
It's "Woman of Bangkok" by the late Jack Reynolds. Written in the early '60s, but set in the 1950s. The hero gets raked over the coals by a cold hearted bar girl type. A fascinating read. For a more historical look, try "Into Siam: Underground Kingdom" by Nicol Smith. The OSS and the Free Thai movement in WWII. Best first hand account I know of. Published in the early '60s, I think.
