Coloseum Posted February 18, 2003 Report Share Posted February 18, 2003 Went by the place the other day. Quite an impressive structure with an entrance fit for a 5* hotel. Beautiful attendants at the entrance. The board outside had pictures of bands and other artists (all in Thai). Definitely an upscale venue. Can someone give me the lowdown of this place. samak Posted February 21, 2003 Report Share Posted February 21, 2003 interesting, that you do not get any answer!?! can you elaborate a bit more about your experience? have not been there for very long time; last time i was there it had still the old name (global or something like that); quite an expensive place, membership 20'000 plusplus entitled to a couple of bottles and girls. To be honest, I was just about to post that its the 1st. time (in my one year on the board) that a question relating to a venue in BKK has been left unanswered for so long. "can you elaborate a bit more about your experience?" Since I've never been to any of the venues in soi 11 I've decided to take a stroll down the soi and see where they are located and if possible to take a peek. It was around 9:30 p.m. and I was with my GF. I had a drink at Genesis (which I could not figure out. Is it a restaurant ? a hostess bar ? a disco ? all of the above ?). I then went to BED which was closed that evening (Mon 17/2) and I then proceeded to Q bar. The structure just before Q bar really impressed me. It looked like a beautiful mansion but was obviously a venue. I peeked inside and it really looked like a 5* venue. A big stage with some band playing and a big elegat bar. The place was rather empty. I was not comfortable asking too many questions on account of my GF being with me. I did see some well dressed man sitting with ladies and some ladies on their own. I do think fallangs are welcome though no signs in English anywhere. As much as I like the GG bars I feel the need from time to time for an upscale place. Because I was so impressed I posted. Every time I went by there was Mercedes and BMW's parked out front so I figured it was some sort of hi-so club. Not really my cup of tea. I asked a friend of mine who's a bartender in Q-Bar and she didnt know anything about the place either. BED is pretty cool, a bit small but it has a good vibe. chilli13 Posted February 21, 2003 Report Share Posted February 21, 2003 I've been past this venue more times than I care to remember & noticed recently it changed name from glabal to onze. always been wanted to check it out, but I guess there's just too many well known 'quality' venues in bkk to explore too much as a visitor. Did once 'discover' the energy zone club on amarin rd 1st left after crossing on pinklao bridge. anybody know if that club is still around? really cool disco...
