adikgede Posted March 2, 2003 Report Share Posted March 2, 2003 While every notebook is different, evenb between production runs, as I mentioned above many touchpads are either on the PS/2 bus or they use PS/2 protocol. On my notebook if I use a USB mouse it will automagically be configured when I use Linux (RH 8) but thats not the case when I use Windows (2000). However if I use a USB mouse I lose the touchpad. While with a PS/2 mouse I can switch back in forth while I am working. On my iBook I lose the touch pad if I use a USB mouse (PS/2 is not an option there).
