thai3
I read on another board that if you bid on priceline.com/hk now for a 5 star on suk that you will not get the JW Marriott but the Westin Grande near Robbinson. Can anyone verify this?-peter
samak
depends on how much you bid and what are the criteria give it a try and give a report
Guest
Sounds like a good question, because if true, then the 5 star bid on Priceline Hong Kong for a hotel in the Sukhumvit area is no longer a sure thing for the jw marriott. I don't know the pricing/quality for the new Westin Grande on Sukhumvit. Regards BKK22 - ::
samak
a friend stayed there last month and got it for around 80 usd through his travel agency. in comparison with other hotels on suk i would say it is better than landmark, equal to jw mariott but does not reach sheraton grande. the location is very good, just 300 meters to SC and even less to Thermae, Clinton or Soi
stumpy
Anyone know if the Westin Grande is guest friendly?
thai3
you cannot try without paying, the bids are blind and they only tell you the hotel after. This was OK before as the only 5 star they used on suk was the JW, but seems this has changed, is the new one guest friendly? I think not but never been there- peter

Guest
I agree with Samak about the Westin. I would probably recommend it over the Marriott with the exception of the superior(standard) rooms which are not yet renovated. I liked it better than Marriott and Landmark, but it is definitely not the Sheraton. I have pics of rooms if anyone needs to see. Pls email off board.
