While I really like ice hockey (hockey) very much, I do not consider the IIHF world championships very important. For me it?s all NHL and this year my favorite team, the Detroit Red Wings, is out. :( :: Now I hope that a Canadian team (Ottawa Senators or Vancouver Cunucks) go all the way and win the Stanley Cup. This would be the first time since 1993. Time for them to bring the cup home to Canada. :)

im much more interested in IIHF than NHL.

Especially the tournaments D I + II with such countries like Mexico or Thailand and their exciting results!

I remember some years ago the follow legendary result:

Tournament under 18 years

Australia - Thailand 92:0. This result is true!

(And Australia is NOT a Giant)

The IIHF world championships serve as a talent pool for the NHL drafts. That's important, of course. :)
