AF16
Calling Thailand I have phoned to Bangkok before and I dialed 00(out of Norway) 66(Bangkok?) 11111111(eight digit telephone number) I have gotten a number in Udonthani now and it looks like this: 09-1111111 I guess 09 is Udontani so I don?t have to dial 66. So I should call 00(out of Norway) 09((Udontani) 1111111(seven digit telephone number ? Udon)
Pom Michael
This number is a mobile number. +66 is the country code for Thailand. So dial : +66 9 111-1111 A fixed line telephone in Udon Thani would start with 042 and would be dialed : +66 42 111-111 Cheers!
AF16
Ok, I have tried that (sms). Have to wait to see if it works. Why should I not use [0]9? Don't I have to use a prefix to get out of my home country?
bangkokbutcher
If using a mobile phone the prefix 00 or whatever can be replaced as a + symbol. So if you dial 0066 it is the same as +66. The first part of the number you are trying to contact starts with 09, the first 0 should not be used so that it just becomes 9. Hence the number you should be dialling is +669 (or 00669 it makes no difference) followed by the rest of the number as is. Hope this helps. bangkokbutcher
As Pom Michael has already explained, the first 9 in the number is the mobile identifier code, which is the same anywhere in thailand. If you were to call a land line in udon you would need to dial +6642 (or 006642 it makes no difference) where (0)42 is the udon thani area code. Cheers.
