BelgianBoy
Says limbo: It's strange though, you have enough talent. How long ago is it that no Belgian rider won a stage? I know the Dutch had a few meagre years, that's why I'm glad we were able to pull one off. Uehhhh...... last year 'we' won none, but here is an overview of the previous years before you ask 1990 (2) 4e etappe: Nantes Mont St Michel (203 km): Johan Museeuw 21e etappe: Brétigny sur Orge Parijs (182,5 km): Johan Museeuw 1991 (1) 3e etappe: Lyon Dijon (210,5 km): Etienne de Wilde 1992 (2) 8e etappe: Valkenburg Koblenz (206,5 km): Jan Nevens 20e etappe: Blois Nanterre (222 km): Peter de Clercq 1993 (2) 2e etappe: Les Sables d'Olonne Vannes (227,5 km): Wilfried Nelissen 6e etappe: Evreux Amiens (158 km): Johan Bruyneel 1995 (1) 7e etappe: Charleroi Luik (203 km): Johan Bruyneel 1998 (4) 1e etappe: Dublin Dublin (180,5 km): Tom Steels 12e etappe: Tarascon sur Ariège Le Cap d'Agde (222 km): Tom Steels 18e etappe: Aix les Bains Neuchâtel (218,5 km): Tom Steels 21e etappe: Melun Parijs (147,5 km): Tom Steels 1999 (4) 2e etappe: Challans Saint Nazaire (176 km): Tom Steels 3e etappe: Nantes Laval (194,5 km): Tom Steels 11e etappe: Bourg d'Oisans Saint Etienne (198,5 km): Ludo Dierckxens 17e etappe: Mourenx Bordeaux (200 km): Tom Steels 2000 (2) 2e etappe: Futuroscope Loudun (194 km): Tom Steels 3e etappe: Loudun Nantes (161,5 km): Tom Steels 2001 (3) 2e etappe: Calais-Antwerpen (218,5 km): Marc Wauters 15e etappe: Pau-Lavaur (232,5 km): Rik Verbrugghe 17e etappe: Brive la Gaillarde-Montluçon (194 km): Serge Baguet BTW, right this second the start is given, will watch the stage 100 % live, eat your heart out........ Zaad
Lance has done it again. Cooke got green and Virenque the polka-dotted one. Congrats to all but especially Armstrong. 5 times in a row. Only Indurain can say the same. Next year his 6th?

sfinkz
I'll be rooting against Armstrong next year. As six victories (consecutive or conglomerate) has never been accomplished, it would equate in many minds as the best cyclist ever. Ever since Indurain, it seems the sport has become about not making mistakes. There is now too much riding behind rear wheels (they never "drag" anymore) and an over-reliance on the team and radio communication. Armstrong and company have certainly mastered these tactics but the best ever? Eddy, Eddy, Eddy! Also, with the most prestige, it's the only event he enters, bypassing Italy and the one-day classics to train year-round as a Tour de France robot. limbo
Hi Sfinkz, first of all congrats to Armstrong, Cooke and Virenque. Second, I agree full heartedly that Eddy is the greatest. 110%. However, Armstrong does participate in the one day classics. He's almost won the Amstel Gold Race twice. What I don't like in the TdeF is the team times trial, that's how Lance won this year. I'ld like to skip it. Anyway, thanks for making this a pleasant forum and see ya all next year.
