Guest
I have a chance to take employment at a school in Korea. Although I have never considered ROK a place to live, I have heard some positive thigs about it and the money is good. Can any of you experienced Korea hands tell me about life in ROK? What's the cost of living like, nightlife and most importantly the girlie scene? I'm more interested in nonP4P action, so any of you guys who have been on the Korean dating roundabout, let me know. jp1
Hi Jaga, you might send a PM to Sarisin. He lived for several years in Korea. I believe he even speaks Korean. As for myself, I like this country but I'm only on buz. trips over there and I'm no expert.
nkped
My experience is pretty dated so I won't say too much. Loved Korea. Koreans work hard but know how to play as well. Visual, slapstick humor was so popular you could watch Korean TV and get a lot of laughs without understanding the language. People will ignore you at first, but if they open up to you, they will really open up. As to girls, some of the most stunning women in the world. Don't know what I would do in your situation, but wish I had the choice.
CDN
Jaganath, I will answer your questions, but I can't do it right now as I'm a bit drunk and I don't want to share important information though the filter of alcohol. I've been here in Korea for two years. Yes, money can be made, but it's SO very easy to spend, spend, spend. Give me another day or two and I'll post some stuff. In the meantime, please check out this website: www.eslcafe.com. More specifically, go to the "Job Board" section, and read the "Korean Job Discussion" sub-forum. You will find a horde of information about living and working in Korea. Cheers, CDN
Guest
CDN, Thanks for the heads up, Dave's board is where I sourced the job info from originally. Before you post, I suppose I have a number of specific questions I hope you can address. 1. What are the best cities to live in? I am a big city person and dont want to be stuck in the boonies. 2. What is the cost of living like? eg subway ticket, packet of smokes, gym membership, beer etc? 3. What are the living arrangements like for most of these schools.? 4. Most important, the nightlife and sanuk! What is the cost of a decent night out, how does the scene work etc? What's it like for westerners chasing non p4p Korean girls, is it easy to get laid? Thanks in advance for any help. Cheers Jaga
Fiery Jack
Says Jaganath69: ... 2. What is the cost of living like? eg subway ticket, packet of smokes, gym membership, beer etc? LOL . Yeah, that'll about do it ? no need to bother with luxuries like food, huh? Just ride the metro to the gym to keep in shape then smoke some fags and get pissed. (You forgot condoms, though . And an internet service for the porn ) jack

(If so, my resume's looking pretty good... ) jack
