rovineye
I sent a question to Chiang Mai consul. Here is the question and the reply: > Subject: Ask the Consul > > Dear Consul, > I am lucky that my long time girl friend was finally able to get a tourist visa and had a wonderful visit last month. She is hoping she will be able to get a visa next year to visit again. > > I have one concern about that. We are considering getting married in about a year and a half, which means I will start the K-1 process in 6 months. > Will her pending application for a K-1 visa affect her application for a tourist visa so she can visit next year? I have been told that it is very difficult to get a tourist visa if a K-1 visa (I-129F) has been applied for. > Is this true? > Regards > xxxxxxxxx Dear Mr. xxxxxxx, Yes, you are correct. Once an individual has a fiancée petition filed on their behalf, he or she is considered to be an intending immigrant and thus not eligible for a non-immigrant (tourist) visa.
