Redbaron
The old 386 has just about kicked the bucket, and I'm looking at a few systems. Just 2 questions. 1. Re: RAM. What's the difference between "DDR Ram", and "PC2700 DDR 333 Memory DDR333 (PC2700) High Speed RAM with EPROM" - quotes from the brochure 2. Re: AMD. AMD XP2800+ MMX / AMD Athlon XP 2800+ MMX Same or not? Basically I've narowed it down to 2 systems, these seem to be the only major differences. Any advice would be golden. Thanks guys. El_Tel
Okay. 1. Both are DDR Ram. "PC2700 DDR 333 Memory DDR333 (PC2700) High Speed RAM with EPROM" just describes what you're getting in detail. 2. Same.

BritTim
DDR RAM stands for "Double Data Rate Random Access Memory". Don't worry about what it means: the important thing is that it is "good" compared to the SRAM that came before it. DDR RAM comes in multiple speeds. DDR 333 (PC2700) is faster than DDR 266. DDR 400 is better still. A designation of DDR RAM without specifying the speed is likely to be DDR 266, but should be checked.
Redbaron
Thanks Tim, That's somethintg else I was concerned about. "Good" vs "Bad" RAM... had heard there was a difference. Almost time to go shopping I think.
