steffi
I recently went to the doctor with a cough and cold symptoms and he prescribed in addition to amoxy etc Romilar or DXM. I'm a little concerned about taking this medicine as it's suppose to be strong and some folks use it as a recreational drug.
Guest
You are right to be concerned. This site will tell you (most) everything you need to know: http://www.erowid.org/chemicals/dxm/dxm.shtml It could be dangerous, or it could be fun? tomc12
Dextromethorphan and codeine are good cough suppressants. DXM is the only one available in America without a prescription. Found in many cough/cold medicines, it is safe to use in normal doseage. Recreational use involves very high doses, well over the recommended amout, and this can cause problems.
