Corporate Mascots in Thai culture

I was driving past a KFC the other day and I noticed that the Colonel was not waiing.... unlike his more polite counterparts, the Michelin Man and Ronald MacDonald.

I mentioned this to my GF and she pointed out the obvious, 'He's an old man and he doesn't need to wai.'.

What other corporate mascots have you seen wai / not wai here in LOS?

Very interesting point.

I'm wondering whether there has ever been a study done on Thai Mascots to see whether the excess amount of waiing that they have to do has led to repetitive strain injury. I'm sure in the West it would have led to a rash of personal injury claims. You've only got to drop a pen in an office and bend down to pick it up to have a potential claim in the UK.
