I've done a more in-depth search and have found the same info as you pointed out. Things change daily in LOS. Truth be told I normally just pay the desk fee of 1300 bht all inclusive with brkft when staying at the manhattan but have paid around 800 bht inclusive of SC and fees/brkfst twice when booking through Planet on my mobile in Pattaya with a credit card.
