Hello,

There are many 4 star hotels in Chiang Mai (CNX), and it really is up to your personal preference regarding what makes one hotel in CNX better than others.

Maybe one of our Chiang Mai residents can fill in more details.

Here are a few overall links to hotel consolidators for Chiang Mai that have prices and details.

Some specific hotels:

Pornping Chiang Mai, Tel: +66 53 270-099 (Not quite 4 stars, but decent)

Chiang Mai Plaza Hotel, Tel: +66 53 270-036

Imperial Mae Ping , Tel 66 53 270-160

In many cases, you can get a better rate/same rate from one of the above Hotel consolidators.

Note that the consolidators normally will not give you the direct telephone number to the hotel, the numbers are for their booking centers (normally in Bangkok).

Chiang Mai's telephone numbers begin with : +66 53. Inside Thailand (from Bangkok) you need to dial 053.

Nice to Accommodate you. cool.gif" border="0

One of the best choices would be the river wing of the Diamond Riverside Hotel (Charoen Prathet Rd., Tel. 53-270080/5, Fax 416102/3).

The rooms are excellent (take one on the back to get a river view), and for something like 900 Baht it's a real good deal. Sometimes they quote more but you can bargain a bit. I'm not sure if it's four star, but it should - it's got a swimming pool, massage parlour, restaurant etc.

It's just 3 minutes or so to the Night Bazar. cool.gif" border="0
