stumpy
Have my laptop (Dell) monitor set lowest brightness and contrast and it is still way too bright, is there any way to reduce the brightness further? Have tried Gamma without success.

stumpy
I've sorted this, got the latest ATI drivers for it which has a brightness adjust feature which has improved it greatly.
loner w/a boner
One experience I had with a laptop had brighteness options in the bios settings. Don't know if this was the norm witn older macines, or just that model. You might try lookiing there for further adjustments, if needed.
