Guest
The Thai TV has already said that Chutuchak, because of the number of fowl, is not a good place to go. As for the deaths being attributed to bird cholerea, one reports claims the flu started in November, north of Bangkok. It claimed the flu was brought in by migratory birds. The government has taken a lot of heat for misinforming the people of the seriousness of the problem. Some claim they are going to file large law suits. Thais, for the most part, are aware that pigeons carry the disease. I suspect they are more surprise that they find out falangs know about it also. The Thai TV is open about all fowl, and that it has crossed over to pigs, etc. of being carriers. Some are talking about being vegetarians. Those thinking of being vegetarians have also seen the Thai TV news of the person who got the flu from a watermelon. The watermelon was fertilized with bird droppings. Some parents are thinking about taking their children out of school. For the most part, nobodies seems to know exactly what to do. The government claims the flu can not be transmitted from person to person, but I believe flu, once in humans, can be transmitted from person to person. Some Thai people have accused the government of misinformation. In the West, this is common. Should be interesting to see what happens.
