"That is what title insurance is for. Sounds like you bought land that had a tax lien. Next time be sure to do a title search."

Apparently Shygye does not know much about some of the property problems some people have had.

For example, in one area of the US, the land was once owned by Native Americans. Then the land was owned by Spainards. Then it was owned by Mexicans. Then it was owned by Native Americans. Then it was owned by the US government. Some cities were created and sold town sites. The paper work was not perfect, so others resold the town sites. In one city, another city was formed which encomposed part of the property of another city. Who owned the land? In one case, everybody in the city had to leave because the courts determined the property belonged to one individual.

As for me, I owned property that formerly was owned by the only Native American Nation that signed a treaty which had a clause that stated they could never reown their former property again. Uncle Sam refuses to settle the problem of that Native Americn Nation from buying up their former land, and once the property was purchased, the Native americans refuse to pay any property tax on the property which place a heavier tax burden on the rest of the people of the community.
