Chanchao
> what about haan " ËÒ " > bold, daring, audacious Too positive. Really does mean 'daring', 'brave'. So a good treat.
daeng bireley
ËÒ [hahn] adj. brave, courageous, dare, daring, bold, audacious, valiant ˹éÒ´éÒ¹ naa daan adj. brazen,brazen-faced,shameless,impudent,immodest this is from cyberdict thai>english
Guest
just a dictionary alone will not help much in translating in many cases as it will not give you the cultural context, which is especially important in a language full with subtleties and double meanings such as thai. the poster who asked that question has mentioned audacious also in the context of 'insolent' - a rather negative meaning. you have to observe that context more than a direct translation.
