pattaya127
Both POVS are actually right. Asia in itself, can be referred about when talking of Thailand life, as with other countries. To me, so far, the big difference is that when I come back from any other surrounding countries (esp. India!!!), even Vientiane to Nong Khai, there is this unmistakable feeling of being home again, however i enjoyed traveling elsewhere, and that's the big difference for me, albeit a personal one maybe. Guest
After reviewing the snippets from Mont Redmond's book made available here, I agree with Soonmak: his prose is impenatrable. I think I know what Mont Redmond is trying to acheive, but I think he falls far short of his target. I have not yet seen a book set in or about Bangkok that comes close to, say, Joseph Brodsky's Watermark. That book has not been written yet.
