You must have been watching mon pleng luktung FM with the engleesh subtitles, magnificent film. I want to find out if they ever released a full length version of the concert at the end. This was filmed in sala chalerm krung in china town an art deco theatre now restored to it's former glory. Some important singers in the film, the great Pongsri Waranuch appears as one of the judges and Yui yatt yerr appears at in the fair scene. I don't think Longan worked in the karaoke, this was luknok the fruit seller 'mai chop lam yai, mai chop'-peter

Great film...probably the best Thai film I`ve seen, very funny in parts and nice to see all the favourite Look Toong stars.Presumably Khun Lumyai was translated to " Longan ".This nickname is not very flattering for a TG. as it literally means something like " Big tree trunk ".Her first album release was great,Istill listen to it regularly, the second one ( I think ) bought last year isn`t quite as good.

I agree the 2nd one is not as good but the third one has a couple of very memorable songs. She is one of those performers who are so much more impressive live, like apaporn. Did you see mon rak transisitor? I loved that fim. The original big hit luktung film was mon rak luktung (1970)

you can get this on VCD. The tragedy is the film stock has become so damaged it's virtually unwatchable -peter

I will look out for the newest release when I arrive ( less than 8 weeks now ).I usually stay in Pattaya...last time I got to see Hui Yard Yer ( she only did about 3 or 4 songs as she seemed to throat-voice problems) and Sek Loso ( without the rest of the band-had 2 farangs playing guitar backing-slight disappiontment but still exciting to see live).Best of all though by a long shot was the " see-ung issarn " concert featuring Boyfai Marlaiporn .Once the main set had finished 5 or 6 singers " sai choot likay " entertained the big crowd with a non-stop morlam performance that was fantastic...wish I could have stayed all night but my back was killing me after sitting on one of those little plastic stools for about 5-6 hrs.

She wears a gold outfit on the cover.I think you mean Yui Yatt Yerr, seen her a couple of times and once last xmas she did not show up due to demanding an extra 10,000 baht fee at the last minute. Gone off her a bit since! Don't know of Boyfai Marlaiporn. Loso split up some time back I believe so sec now plays with other people-peter
