thefezman
Hi guys, Need some help here. My newly married sister and hubbie are headed to Bkk and Koh Samui at the end of the month. They are looking for a nice hotel around Siam Square for 2 nights or so (looking to spend around £50 per night). Any ideas? Also any info on Koh Samui hotels on chaweng would be appreciated. Thanks
Guest
For suitably overpriced hotels, look at the Pathumwan Princess and the Novotel Bangkok On Siam Square. Both within your price range. Also, consider an apartment. ie; http://www.centrepoint.com/eng/location/531_studio_A.html or, in my opinion, a better location to see and travel around Bangkok; http://www.centrepoint.com/eng/location/333_1br_F.html It's close to the riverside and a minutes walk from the SkyTrain. Both are around £50 nightly. For Samui, further criteria is required for a suitable answer.
Guest
Samui suggestion: The Beach Front Air-condition Bungalows @ http://www.kings-garden-resort.com/bungalow_types.html
samak
Novotel Siam Square (make sure you book the right one, as there are 2 other Novotels in BKK) is not so bad and IMO also not overpriced. for Samui: it is low season, therefore low rates in the best resorts on Chaweng should be available: the best resorts IMO: Chaweng Regent, Central, Imperial, Poppies, Chaweng Buri, Blue Lagoon, Amari
Guest
It may depend on whether you want the 'lowliest' room in an expensive resort or the best beachfront accommodation in a less expensive resort. I prefer a mix. I keep a beachfront accommodation whilst on Samui and use the Neptune Gym and the gym at the Regent.
