I think Owen has relied a lot upon pace. He really burst on stage early. As injuries take their toll, the speed is lost and suddenly he is not a world class player anymore.

Owen was stupid. He should have stayed another year at Liverpool and see what Benitez could do with the team. How is he going to expect to get minutes on a club where you have Raul, Ronaldo, Morientez and Guti? His advisors should have told him not to go. He should have waited to see if Ronaldo, who has been reported to be considering a move back to Italy in the summer, goes next season, and that would at least give him more options. His place in England was under pressure from Dafoe and an emerging Smith. Rooney is a sure starter. Staying at Liverpool would have guaranteed him playing time and made it hard for Sven to leave him out. Now sven has an excuse not to start him by saying he hasn't been playing regularly.

 

A good move back to England may be the Toon. Shearer is leaving and Kluivert needs a partner up front. Toon are a legit UEFA cup qualifying side and with a bit of luck could nick who ever is 4th (Liverpool and hopefully Man Utd..haha) for the CL spot.

Complete bollocks actualy Michael. As soon as Fowler lost it you became the big hope for getting the goals but you never made into the hearts of the supporters.
