Just got back from doing a little gambling.

The casino's have a varied price range. Grand Diamond heads the list at 1,800 baht per night for their standard. Gen ??? Genting was cheapest at 650 baht (I think) per night. I stayed at the Tropicana for 900 baht a night. Pretty nice, though I stayed on a floor with no elevator. If the room isn't new, it's been newly remodeled. The bathroom was especially nice. Very clean.

The casino area between the Cambodia and Thailand borders is well lit and there are guards. Thought I'd feel insecure but I felt fine walking between the hotels at night. Well, that's if your nuts like me. There are shuttles and vans that run between all the Casinos free of charge.

Minimum's at tables are getting higher and higher. Minimum for Pai Gow was 300 baht in several places.

For those who like pool, "Holiday Palace" (?) is having a pool tournament this coming weekend (my timing SUCKS). From Oct 28th to 30th.

Entry is only 300 baht (or spend a 1,000 baht in their shops and you get an entry for free). 1st prize is 29.9k baht, second is 17.4k baht, third is 5.3k baht, and 4th is 2.7k baht. How they hell they figured on those sums I have NO idea!!!

What I wonder is why no one has opened a Rachada style soapy up there! Maybe that's to in your face, or maybe too many folks with influence would play too hard (that's what people have told me).
