Four BGs and off to hear molam

On Saturday, I Went to a concert.

I had many months ago promised Ms Fuzzy Hair (now very fuzzy indeed, like a huge Afro) and one of her friends to go to some molam joint to party and hear life music. At that time, a strict 1.00 curfew on these places had just been imposed, which we didn't know. When we got there, it was closed.

Anyway, they've been pestering me ever since, whenever I got into MN, they'd ask 'When we go molam?'. Finally, I managed last week to get a bearing on a upcoming event : Siriporn performing on Saturday at Din Daeng. I'd never seen her, although I have many of her CD's.

But since my original promise to FH and cute Ms M, a lot of time had gone by. I'd found back an old friend who I thought had gone home, who went with me to my first Jintara concert last year, and who'd given me the contact numbers to ring to find out who plays where. She'd deserve to come too. i'd also reconnected with The wonderful woman from a small bar in SC, who caused me to write my report 'butterfly falling off the wagon', I'd decided to more or less spend most of my time with her, because of her good nature, lovely full body, superb oral skills, and propensity to having wild powerful orgasms.

My first night this trip was with another old friend from AW, a disappointment, and I decided therefor to stick to someone with proven abilities. Maybe I'll have to change my signature again.

We got together in MN, waited a short while for a few possible others to come along, then got into a cab. then silence.

i started to realise that I had brought along 4 women, each of whom I had spent multiple nights with, and all of them knew that. I'd also introduced myself to each at the start as a butterfly, but was now seen as sticking to one only. I'd paid bar for all four, but explained I'd only go with the one (i forgot what i called her last time, I think Noi).

I think they were all a bit nervous about each other. i've never heard so little talk from a cluster of 4 BGs. So, i mentioned it, and grins appeared. No problem.

The concert venue was open air, two of them were dispatched to buy beer, I went and rented the chairs while the other two rushed off to the loo.

The warm up music and performers were OK, I never get too excited about the comedians, but they were less crass than usual. The girls loved the jokes, and at the next warm up songs were singing and dancing along. Many families around us, grandmothers and children, party time for issaan people.

i think some of the families twigged to the combination of the falang (only one in the whiole concert) and the four quite vocal and boisterous girls, but nobody seemed to bat an eyelid.

The star attraction was fantastic. Her voice is so wonderfully husky. When I went up front to pay my respects, offer her a monetary donation as expression of my appreciation, she looked with the now familiar surprise like' what's a falang doing here. The crowd around the stage was more active than in the rear, more dancing, and more drunk, but all seemed to welcome me, to the extent is was hard to get away. the two girls that came with me guided me back to our seats, obviously didn't feel comfortable with me being out front.

On the whole a great experience, I can recommend to anyone who wants to experience a bit beyond the bar or tourist scene. you'll have no problem at all to find someone to come along as a guide or caretaker.

Finish around 11.30, we headed back to MN, where a postmortem was held with much drink, cuddling, the odd little grope here and there, and some dancing. the older girl, who stopped dancing a few years ago and now works dekserve a few doors down, jumped on stage, and loosened her top jeans button. Wrong thing to do in Mn, because it meant she lost her trou almost a few times. (Still has a nice posterior) She was getting drunk, and iI think sentimental, so it was OK that we had 1.00 closing.

Noi, later back at our hotel, expressed her gratitude by exceeding herself in what she does best.

Several of her relatives also sing with her, did you see the fat woman comic? she is married to the weedy clown. One of the male singers is exceptional. Last time I saw her a friend took me round the back first to see her, also went on the troupe bus where the dancers and clowns live, rather them than me. When we left a lot of the troupe followed us to the road which was about 200 yards. I thought what the hells going on have I got to put this lot into a taxi to somehwere, but they just walked all the way to wave us goodbye. The only negative thing about siriporn is that the grammy sound is getting too same same, all her CD's are starting to sound like the last one and they never record any morlam at all. Her concerts are about the best IMO, Nok Nois attract too many people-peter

Ikk:

Great Story. I love Siriporn and always hope to hit one of her concerts.

I agree that everyone should experience one night in a morlam venue. To me, it is without a doubt Thai entertainment at its best.

I was fortunate to hit two great places - one was a nice sized restaurant and open air venue on Samui, not too far down the beach road from the upscale Central Samui hotel. The music was great and just as you, I was the only foreigner. I had a blast dancing with the crowd of mostly hotel workers who just got off the night shift. The venue may have shut... I couldn't find it last time I took my honey for a vacation. A victim of redevelopment in the area.

The best show hands down was during the annual Silk Festival on the provincial government grounds in Khon Kaen. I went with 5 girls from the Kaen Inn TT massage parlor (just a short distance away). This nonstop spectacle went on for several nights until 6 am (we left at 4). Katoey shows, large scale dance shows with great costumes, and lots of people having a blast.

As we sat on the ground with our drinks and snacks, I was pulled up to dance by some middle aged concert goers. Everyone was friendly (and some noticeably drink). The beer really flows at this event. The only thing I didn't get into was the bug eating (the girls tried to stuff them down my throat many times).

After the evening's festivities I retired to my room with just 1 girl - my hopes of an orgy were dashed as some girls just went home.

In Phuket there used to be Isaan 1 (Patong) and Issan 2 (near Chalong Circle). I think only #2 is still operating. #2 was always hit or miss... some bands were good and others stunk. But the cold beer Chang or Sangtip eased things.

Siriporn rocks!

Ilovetata,

The place in Chaweng/Samui is closed indeed, Santa Fe, too many fights and shootings happening. Not many farangs went there, it was mostly a Thai place.

It's open again on irregular occasions, for live music under a different name.

The Thai meeting place in Chaweng nowadays is the Full Circle. They have live music but not much Morlam.

Bugger, the concert date checks are not going well. But did call Banyens manager who says she is off to chile, she does like those latin songs. But better he asks for contacts as she wants to come to London, bit nearer than chile. Am calling Jintara again tomorrow but looks doubtfull. Really getting into job and joy at present esp the first CD. Pity Noporn are crap at the video quality and sometimes the sound, they never seems to answer the phone. I may go to KK to meet lady. Have to try for the silk fair next year and the big fm luktung concert. Grammy say only mike has concerts well out of the way too. Dont forget to chain the gate up tomorrow for halloween, fireworks a big improvement this year-peter

Only one, how did you get away with that considering the ex? You should try Nok Noi, her concerts must be 2 or 3 times the size of siriporn, but siriorns have nicer atmosphere, well until the fights break out the plod drag someone off and give them a good stick beating.Like siriporn Nok Noi has family members in her troupe with her son singing.I just wish Jintaras dancers were as cute as these two, some of hers are the heavy brigade-peter
