gregchambers
I know someone who wanted to take a Thai girl for a visit to Oz and she had been deported from South Africe on arrival and then been blacklisted by the passport people. He went to a lawyer who said he could sort it but he couldn't as the blacklist was in the system. But passport office said if they got married then a passport could be issued. The guarantee parts perhaps refers to Oz embassy confirming his status re job and being single, don't think he was asked by the Thai passport office to front any money for her. As it happens, he was not yet divorced - just as well for him as it turned out she was ex- Thai brothel and had AIDS!

New Petchburi Pete
The only time a farang needs to be involved, is if the applicant (minor) is the child of a Thai-farang marriage.
