Surf will be up! I caught a small swell about 6years ago when I was driving down south-I surfed a small point break about chest high after the widnd switched off shore...The entire village came out to watch...There was this one cute girl that wanted to learn to surf :D

Get aboogy board.. :)

new report:

In the last few hours Typhoon Muifa has changed course and is now tracking to hit Ko Samui on Friday, but could yet track north closer to Bangkok.

It may be 'only' tropical storm strength when it hits. :)

As you probably know, Thailand is very rarely hit by tropical storms and typhoons so building codes and evacuation plans are very much untested. ::

If you are planning a holiday down South you may wish to change plans. Right is the projected path ::

The storm was expected to hit Samui at 19.00.

Other than a big thunder and lightning show with fairly strong winds and lots of rain for about 30 minutes around 18.00. nothing happened really.

2 hrs later and all is quiet. Hopefully not a lull before the real storm hits.
