Yehtmae
Looks like the map there is not being updated. I've checked on other sites and it now looks like it will bypass the south tip of Vietnam and hit the mid south of Thailand full on.
thalenoi
Think they are in the UK and sleep at night. Data updated during GMT daytime. Status is now down from category 1 hurricane to tropical storm and still heading towards Surat 42 hours from now. Heavy rains and flooding possible. Pom Michael
Muifa This is a link to a file folder, note that the date may change so you should edit it for tomorrow (my guess): http://203.155.123.200/disk2/Olddata/ThaiDATA/Enh/20041126/
thalenoi
Just talked to the gf in Chumpon, it started raining but she does not expect much trouble from Muifa, could be worse around Nakhon Si Thammarat and Surat Thani. I will be on my way to Paris and Bangkok tonight, missing that thyphoon by one day....
Mentors
new report: In the last few hours Typhoon Muifa has changed course and is now tracking to hit Ko Samui on Friday, but could yet track north closer to Bangkok. It may be 'only' tropical storm strength when it hits. As you probably know, Thailand is very rarely hit by tropical storms and typhoons so building codes and evacuation plans are very much untested. :: If you are planning a holiday down South you may wish to change plans. Right is the projected path ::
limbo
The storm was expected to hit Samui at 19.00. Other than a big thunder and lightning show with fairly strong winds and lots of rain for about 30 minutes around 18.00. nothing happened really. 2 hrs later and all is quiet. Hopefully not a lull before the real storm hits.
olorin
Nah, looks like it was pretty much a non-event and slowed down in the Gulf of Thailand, before turning north. Might get rain in Bangkok tonight though. :-)
