ultras67
OK, I put this as a photoshop problem but it may not be. What is happening is this. I have transferred a batch of pictures from my digital card to my hard drive. I have then opened the pictures in photoshop (7) and altered them and saved them with a new file name. Later when I go back to the folder ( using Explore from the My Computer desktop icon ) with the pictures, some pictures have got the file names mixed up. Picture A is now called picture B etc. When I open the file with photoshop in the main window its the same, photo A has the title Photo B but... the preview picture below the main open file window shows the correct image and correct name!! I have run my anti virus programs and nothing shows up, I have also run Adaware and nothing shows up. It seems that it is only the pictures in this particular folder that have been effected. All my others seem to be OK. Has anyone any idea what could be causing this??
kamui
I had a similar problem with ACDSee. The ACDSee browser suddenly had switched the titles of two images. A reboot solved the problem. Have you already rebooted your PC?
BaronTT
Try erasing the Thumbs.db system file in the directory. This seems to help me when I have similar problems listing the picture files. Don't worry, the system will recreate the file when it needs to.
ultras67
I had a similar problem with ACDSee. The ACDSee browser suddenly had switched the titles of two images. A reboot solved the problem. Have you already rebooted your PC? yes, i have restarted it a couple of times now and still the same. Think it would be worthwhile getting photoshop 8 or uninstalling then reinstalling 7?
kamui
Have you already tried to follow Barons advice. This might be a more simple solution.
