If you like this sort of thing I might sugest you look at Worldwind from NASA, could probably find a link if it's wanted. Careful if you really get vertigo, scrolling in and out with the mouse can be quite vomitful. there is much that is not exactly obvious but feel free to ask questions, been using it a while and have figured a few things out. The software is free (make sure you DL Keyhole-PRO) for 7 days, and has very high resolution (1 foot; able to see cars) imagery of some US and European cities.
