duan
I have read that you need a collar and tie for some restaurants at the Oriental. Is this correct? Has anyone got any views on the V9 bar at the Sofitel on Silom? All info greatly appreciated.

Crap Buffet food last time I was there. Mind you that was 4 years ago. wont ever go back Other places have views of the river that are good. Sheraton Riverside BBQ rest. has a good one . but not high class as the poster wanted
dsab
THX for all the suggestions. In the end we went to the Vertigo, and I have to say I really enjoyed it. Money well spent. Good Food, nice ambience, great view, and the weather was on our side as well. Cheers, DSAB P.S. will try most of the other suggestions next time I need some nice place in BKK. BTW. now living in Shanghai, and while the food is not bad, it is def. not BKK, not in choice and nor in quality. Thank god wife got a crash course in cooking from her mum before we left BKK. samak
this would be Cloud 9 bar on Jin Mao; the bar is part of the Grand Hyatt hotel, which occupies the upper floors of the tower!
