Where is the place for a HIV-antibody blood test

Anonymous Clinic of the Thai Red Cross, just across from Hua Lampong Temple or the No Hands Restaurant, whichever you know better. Actually, it is closer to the restaurant.

If the above is of no help, it is in bewteen Surawong and Silom Roads, about 5 minutes walk from the Silom corner of Lumpini park.

They are fast (result in about 20 minutes),

efficient, and as the name suggests, anonymous.

Good luck.

C'mon guys. It's Bumrumgrad Hospital, on Sukhumvit Soi 3, for all your health needs. Don't screw around trying to find and deal with all these other places, unless you are an expat on a local salary (or living off limited savings). Bumrumgrad is awesome and affordable. Nothing else even comes close, for convenience and quality. That is well corroborated on this board. smile.gif" border="0

Surely, Totsky and FrogPatrol know the best places. But, I'm just saying that it is not worth it for a tourist to hunt for more obscure places.

Cannot argue with VT about Bumrungrat. If you know the correct docs to choose (via web-site and other doc referrals), it is one of the best in Asia. Their prices, though high for Thailand, are about 1/10th of what you may find back in the USA or Europe.

However, I am not sure if Bumrungrat offers a short turn around HIV test. For many, this is an important factor. Maybe someone who has done an HIV test at Bumrungrat can answer if they have the 20 minute version or if you have to wait overnight.

As for the Thai Red Cross Anonymous Clinic Center, it is actually quite a well known place, at least among those who live here. It would also be very convenient for tourists in the Silom area.

Either way, good idea to get tested!

bumrumgrad has a one hour wait for results- 780 baht (200 baht doctor fee, 580 baht test fee)

here's the main problem with the red cross no-name clinic- you'll never know if your gf is positive or not- only she can see the results and there is no paperwork- so she can lie to you if she is positive- but for only 200 baht it's a reliable place to test yourself

for a five minute test go to suriwongse clinic (500 baht)- they do the most hiv rapid tests in thailand
