Guest Posted February 10, 2002 Report Share Posted February 10, 2002 Pattaya Memorial Hospital off Pattaya 3 road near Pattaya central road. 20-30 minutes for a quick immunoassay test and it's 520 baht. Two beer bars I know require their girls to get tested here. I've also gone to a clinic on 2nd road a few blocks south of pattaya south road next to Bangkok bank. 500B and they were reasonably professional. We were tested together so I got to watch the whole process. I don't know for sure, but I suspect the test at the hospital is more specific (less chance of a false pos), because they have the resources to do more sophisticated testing (e.g. centerfuge). After reading an article in the Nation yesterday about unqualified staff at clinics, I'd probably go for the hospital with a real lab and trained staff.
