mogul
hi, will be in los next week. is it safe to eat chicken? i've searched the web, cdc says ok to eat if it's cooked at 175 F for 30 min. is gai yang safe? seems like it's slow cooked, but at low temps. what about fried rice? eggs cooked at high temp, but not long enough? same for any other stir fried foods (eg pad krapaow gai)? any help appreciated. thanks. elef
Hi mogul, it's as safe to eat chicken in Thailand as in your own country. As Samak told you there's no bird flu now - but may come again. A bigger problem than bird flu is different sorts of bacterias, salmonella maybe the biggest. If the temperature is not high enough in the inside you can have problems, but this is the same in all countries. So go ahead and eat it. :: elef
