gummigut
A girl I knew wanted to watch Charlie and The Chocolate Factory so I downloaded the old Willy Wonka with Gene Wilder. Wow, that really was a good movie. Both loved it (her English is very very good) though no Thai subtitles. <<burp>>

limbo
Hi Gummi, Haven't seen the original (Gene Wilder is it?) but saw the remake recently and really liked that one very much.
gummigut
Haven't seen the new one yet. I'd classify the old one with Gene Wilder as a classic. I remember loving it when I was a kid, and I thought I'd be a little bored watching it again. Nuh uh, it was great! Very surprised! Haven't seen the new one yet as I've broken up with that girl I believe. boo hoo <<burp>>
tonychang
Havnt seen the new one but was chatting to some kids and they said they prefer the old one. Interestingly Roald Dahl apparently didnt like it at all.
gobbledonk
Lets face it : Depp can work miracles with almost anything. If you told me 3 years ago that I'd enjoy a remake of the Wilder 'classic' and a Disney show about a 'suspect' pirate, I would have laughed : he takes a role, injects it with whatever complexion he sees fit ('Pirate Keef' and 'Whacko Jacko Willie'), and it all comes together. Best of all, he manages to stay 'under the radar' offset, his infamous nightclub notwithstanding.

gummigut
Zorro: It's definitely worth a rent on a blockbuster rainy night. Don't worry about Gene Wilder, it's not the goofiness like his comedies. <<burp>>
BJ_Blackowitz
Dowloaded the new movie yesterday and saw it with a smile becuase of JD, otherwise it would have been a average movie, now it is better then average. the GW version was also a good one, still remember seeing it a few years ago.
