MisterBlonde
Can anyone recommend a Bkk hotel that you walk into without booking during peak season in January? price range from 800bht up to 3k.I'm going to Pattaya first and i hate to book a BKK in advance as i know my plans will alter once i hit sin city ::
elef
Hardly possible to do that - at least for a hotel in central parts of Bangkok. If you're willing to try a serviced apartment not so central I can recommend Floraville, Pattanakarn Rd.
dddave
I've never failed to get a room at the Fortuna on Suk. Soi 5, B1300 The Raumchit above Thermae usually has rooms; B1000 as does the Sukhumvit Crown, off Suk. Soi eight, just past Lolita bar; pretty tired and old, but you can admire yourself in the ceiling mirror; B800.
liquidflux
Lot of places will have a room, problem is it's usually only available for a day or two at most.
MaiLuk
Last January even my old reliable Honey Hotel on soi 19 had just booked their last room. So I did a walk in at Royal Asia Lodge on Soi 8 and they had several rooms at 1200 baht (at the moment can get a room there for 1000 baht). MaiLuk
Never had a look at the raumchit is it a clean place? I assume no pool.
chilli13
small 24h rooftop pool not bad if the chick is right. other than that its pretty bad value & location these days I'd go for grace(huge 24h pool) any day instead if you insist on cheap lays or even PB hotel(no pool st hotel!) just behind on the soi
paul101
I'd be surprised if the Miami was ever full, but then you have to draw the line somewhere. What you could do is book anyway for the week or two then can come and go as you please in the knowledge that you have no accomodation worries
ALHOLK
Hi! 10 years ago the Miami was often full. They were listed in Lonley Planet and other books for budget travellers. I would stay there as a last resort rather than staying far away from Suk. regards ALHOLK
Dude_Le_Rude
If you are desperate, go to Soi 11/1. There are plenty of crappy hotels available, none of which have a pool. These places have high turnover. A place to crash for a night, while you find a better room.... but I'd check the The Sukhumvit Crown Soi 6 or 8 first. There is, however, construction near the Crown, as well as the Miami, so I would avoid them. AW Grand Business Inn, soi 11. is a new, nicer option, but again, no pool. http://www.awgroup.com/
