BuffHello
English man found dead inside his Central Pattaya apartment. Police Colonel Somnook, the Chief of Pattaya Police attended room number 518/158 on the second floor of the Niran Grand Condo in Soi Arunothai to investigate the death of Mr. Joseph Thomas Black aged 60 from England. The usual close inspection of the body and room were made for signs of a suspicious death and nothing untoward was found. An appointment card issued by the Pattaya International Hospital was found, however no medication was found inside the room. Police are now in contact with the hospital regarding the man?s medical condition prior to his death and are also awaiting the results of a post mortem examination before they close the case and permit the body to be sent back to England for burial. samak
thanks for sharing with us such breaking news! cremation in thailand would save costs! you can then fedex the ashes. transfer of the body will cost more than a first class ticket! and the poor guy can not even enjoy the usual champagne and caviar in first class! MaiLuk
Its obvious to me the guy was snuffed and the killer was the thai boyfriend of a nurse at PTY International Hosp hence the calling card left at the scene. Another grisly killing of farang

liquidflux
But how often does that make the news?
pattaya127
assuming it's news from the Pattaya mail grapevine, I'd say everytime cops check a farang death. If cops are not involved, most likely not a news item. IMO.
Flashermac
Interesting how seldom these deaths are menioned in the Bangkok Post, even when obvious violence has been involved (e.g. a shooting). A journalist friend once told me the Bangkok papers are encouraged not to report bad things in Pattaya -- just as the Phuket Gazette is advised not to report the horrendous number of traffic deaths on the island. No sense in frightening off the tourists.

Guest
Maybe farangs' NATURAL deaths are so rare, it really IS news when one happens.
