yfs
I have read many news accounts (and messages from this board) how the new airport is going to be a boon for Pattaya. Looking at a map, I'm at a loss at how such a little distance (eastward) would make any difference. Anyone care to enlighten me? Is anyone going to change their initial destination from Bangkok to Pattaya?
Pom Michael
Presently, from Don Muang to Pattaya Nua Dolphin Circle, on average without any significant traffic should take just about 2 hours and 20 minutes, using a private car/taxi. It is expected from the new airport to Pattaya Nua to take slightly less than 90 minutes. But when you take into consideration the traffic conditions, many times from DM it will average closer to 3 hours to Pattaya, but from the new airport it should remain at the 90 minute level. Now, does this mean anything for incoming visitors? I don't know, but it can take me an hour to go the 2 kilometers from work to home on a bad night. Cheers!
